PURPOSE
The Fundraising Committee is to raise awareness
of the Real Property Institute of Canada (RPIC) and solicit and
obtain funds to underwrite the Institute’s initiatives.
OBJECTIVES
The Fundraising Committee is to:
- Develop and foster connections with senior public and private
officials;
- Develop and implement benefits to organizations who contribute
to the financial health of the Institute; and,
- Serve as the body for all fundraising opportunities to raise
the necessary funding resources as outlined in RPIC’s
annual operating budget.
RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER COMMITTEES
The Committee reports to the Secretary/Treasurer.
The Committee works closely with the Community Development and
Outreach Program and the Professional Development Delivery Program,
including the Chairs of the Real Property National Workshop Committee
and the Federal Contaminated Sites National Workshop Committee.
The Committee receives assistance from the Executive Secretary.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Committee strives to fulfill its mandate
through the following activities:
- Develop and manage an annual work plan as approved by the
Board of Directors complete with scope, budget, timelines,
key outcomes and monthly updates on matters pertaining to fundraising;
- Develop a fundraising strategy to ensure that financial
targets in the Institute’s operating budget are met or
exceeded;
- Develop a fundraising campaign including types of collateral
components, identification of target groups, messages for specific
target groups, and desired results from each potential internal/external
contributor (funds or aid-in-kind);
- Develop a supporter’s kit including a letter to potential
contributors, document outlining various categories in which
to contribute funds and the benefits for each category, and
web page promotion;
- Maintain a fundraising program including a schedule to meet
with and/or present to current and potential contributors;
- Serve as the body for all solicitation efforts to underwrite
the Institute’s initiatives such as the delivery of professional
development programs and raise awareness of TPIC with its community
of practice;
- Support all RPIC Workshops and Your Source E-magazine;
- Manage the ways and means to recognize contributors; and,
- Produce a Fundraising Committee Report for inclusion in
the RPIC Annual Report by September 30th of each year.
SECRETARIAT
The Willow Group will be responsible to
support the Fundraising Committee, including the following:
- Maintain annual budgets;
- Assist in the development of content for all print and electronic
collateral;
- Manage all pre-press production, graphic design and translation
requirements for print and electronic collateral including
the web site and means of recognition;
- Manage a fundraising database including targets and results
and generation of reports; and,
- Prepare monthly updates and annual report.
