Park Historical Village
Discover “How the West
was Once” at Canada’s largest living history museum.
Join your Workshop colleagues
at Heritage Park on June 22 for a night of western-style fun!
To kick off the evening, participants
will embark on the S.S. Moyie, a small-scale replica of the S.S.
Moyie sternwheeler.
The original S.S. Moyie was used by the Canadian Pacific
Railway’s
BC Lake and River Service for 59 years, before being retired
in 1957. Originally planned to be used on the “All
Canadian Route” to the Klondike, the Moyie ended up
becoming the Crow Boat on the Nelson-Kootenay Landing Route,
and spent her
later years as a passenger-carrying tugboat on Kootenay Lake.
Following the cruise on the S.S. Moyie, participants will
head to Gunn’s Dairy Barn. Yes, it truly was a dairy
barn, complete with cattle in the stalls and hay in the loft!
Here
everyone
will enjoy a truly Western meal of barbecued chicken and
slow-roasted baby back pork ribs. Be sure to bring your appetite
and we
will supply the napkins!
