Dear Friends,

We hope that you and all your loved ones are keeping safe during the current COVID-19 pandemic, and that you are observing the prudent advice of health authorities to ensure the continued protection of yourself and those around you.

Our upcoming 2020 RPIC Federal Contaminated Sites National Workshop promised to be our best ever – we a fantastic response for the call for abstracts from our community, generous support from our private sector sponsors and partners, and enthusiastic engagement from vendors for the tradeshow. We were excited to offer 11 professional development sessions on the first day followed by a record number of high-quality technical presentations (140+) plus dynamic FedTalks (6) on the subsequent two days of the Workshop.

However, our greatest concern is always for the health and welfare of the members of our community. As such, the RPIC Board has decided to postpone our event until 2021. The good news is that we hope to preserve the excellent program developed to date to share with you in 2021 – amended of course to recognize the further advances that our community will undoubtedly realize in the interim!

In closing, I would like to thank all the members of our federal contaminated sites community – partners, sponsors, vendors, organizing and technical committee members, and attendees – for your past and future generous support of our events. Professionally and personally, I know that these opportunities to meet and to share within our community are a highlight for Cynthia and I, and based on your participation, we trust it is for you as well.

Stay healthy and safe, and we look forward to seeing you in 2021!

Clayton Truax, PSPC and Cynthia Tremblay, DND
Co-chairs, 2020 RPIC Federal Contaminated Sites Workshop

P.S. We hope to stay connected with you to facilitate the continued sharing of information until we meet again in Quebec City in 2021!
