The 2010 RPIC Federal Contaminated Sites National Workshop is the leading professional development event for federal and industry environmental professionals involved in the management and remediation of federal contaminated sites.

Following the success of the 2006 and 2008 National Workshops in Ottawa and Vancouver, the 2010 National Workshop in Montreal will offer a wide variety of opportunities to learn about technical, operational and organizational challenges to the effective management and remediation of federal contaminated sites, as well as new approaches and techniques to address them.

The National Workshop itself will feature three concurrent streams each of the first two days, focusing on topics such as:

  • Assessment and Remediation in Special Environments;
  • Managing Environmental Projects;
  • Human Health Risk Assessment and Risk Management;
  • Ecological Risk Assessment and Risk Management;
  • Risk Communication Strategies;
  • Innovative Assessment and Remediation Technologies;
  • Sustainability Considerations in Remediation Projects;
  • Adaptive Management;
  • Liability Quantification and Reduction; and,
  • Social and Economic Benefits from Site Remediation.

The Workshop will wrap up with a half-day of plenary sessions, a keynote luncheon and site visits to provide a close-up view of the special challenges and benefits of environmental remediation in an urban setting.

The Workshop, including the Welcome Reception, Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony and Trade Show, held in the superb conference facilities of the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel will foster networking with event partners, government representatives, academic researchers and private sector firms.
