RPIC Federal Real Property Week November 23 – 27, 2009
21st Annual National Workshop and Trade Show

The 2nd Annual Federal Real Property Week hosted by the Real Property Institute of Canada was an unqualified success. The program of events consisted of the Professional Development Day, the 21st Annual National Workshop, the Gala Awards Dinner, and the ADM Panel Discussion. The weeklong event provided opportunities to unite the real property community and offered progressive solutions and approaches developed through discussion panels, educational presentations, and recognition of projects that have contributed to the real property community throughout the past year.

The National Workshop theme of “Real Property in Real Time” allowed the real property community to take stock of what is working; assess how the people are coping; and, determine what the leading tools and approaches are to help move the community forward. More than 250 delegates enjoyed close to 20 concurrent sessions and six keynote presentations. Photos are available online here.

RPIC was proud to offer the first collaboration with the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories for the Labs21 presentations. The mission of Labs21 is to find and promote new approaches to designing, constructing, operating and maintaining high performance, energy efficient laboratories – a more sustainable approach. Emerging building concepts and technologies are providing opportunities to improve the efficiency and environmental performance of typical laboratories. A new environmental consciousness is fuelling demands for healthier indoor environments and increased financial savings.

The Labs21 sessions will be followed up with a laboratory focused RPIC Regional Workshop in Calgary scheduled for April of 2010.

The Welcome Reception sponsored by SNC Lavalin offered numerous networking opportunities and excellent exposure for the RPIC Trade Show exhibitors. More than 200 delegates gathered for the beer tasting hosted by Les Brasseurs du Temps.

RPIC highly values the opinions and suggestions of its delegates. Please complete the relevant questionnaire (PD Day, Workshop, or Trade Show Exhibitors) as completely and accurately as possible if you did not submit the form on-site. The questionnaire can be returned by fax to 613.729.6206 or by email to alicia.blais@thewillowgroup.com. We are constantly trying to improve our events and your answers will enable us to better meet your needs.

RPIC would like to thank our event sponsors for their continued support:
